At the age of 15, Slade Nakoff proves age is no limit in the world of entrepreneurship. Kingsport recently finished up their CO.STARTERS cohort with a Pitch Night at the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, and among the talent was Slade Company, a business dedicated to making handcrafted items.
“I’ve been creating and designing for as long as I can remember, but it all has formed into this company in this past year,” said Nakoff.
Slade began his business due to the enjoyment he felt from creating and designing. His father has created several businesses, which sparked the idea in his head, so he decided to try his hand at owning his own business.
“CO.STARTERS made me start thinking about what I needed to do and what the next step was with my business.”
In order to grow his business, Slade plans on continuing to work on and design prototypes. He is in the process of perfecting his most popular items, such as hats.
