The East Tennessee State University student Entrepreneurs’ Club will welcome Joel Norris and John Campbell as its speakers on Monday, Oct. 3, at 5 p.m. in room 322 of Sam Wilson Hall.
Campbell has years of experience as a city manager and is now executive director of AccelNow, a business accelerator supporting technical entrepreneurs and start-up companies across the eight counties of Northeast Tennessee and beyond.
Norris will speak on “Leveraging an Entrepreneurial Mindset throughout Your Career.”
During his 12-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, Norris has worked with a range of pharmaceutical and biotech companies both in-house and as a consultant. He is currently the director of global transparency in the Risk Management Group at Amicus Therapeutics Inc., based in Cranberry, New Jersey.
Norris specializes in global pharmaceutical transparency and has broad experience in compliance auditing and monitoring as well as reporting payments to health care professionals and organizations.
Prior to joining Amicus, Norris was a consultant with Potomac River Partners in Arlington, Virginia, and was senior manager of disclosure at King Pharmaceuticals, where he designed, implemented and managed the database that oversees reporting payments to health care providers and organizations. He also successfully integrated the department after the company’s merger with Pfizer.
At the start of his career, Norris held positions in database management with a major telecommunications company.
Norris is an ETSU alumnus with a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology and a master’s degree in engineering technology with a concentration in continuous quality improvement.
