Chace Vineski was born in Pennsylvania, but moved to the Tri-Cities area as a small boy. After studying at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), where he majored in public health, he spent time working with the Johnson City Cardinals before creating his first invention, Spot Bro. It was then that he dove head first into full-fledged entrepreneurship with his business A-ha Innovations.
The concept behind A-ha Innovations is to bring new and unique products to market. Spot Bro is one of the products and is a patent pending, weight lifting safety device for the bench press. It works by attaching the barbell directly to the bench press rack which offers protection to the user in the event they accidentally drop the barbell or they are unable to rack it. Chace developed the idea for Spot Bro based to his own experience with dangerous weightlifting situations.
Chace has many ideas he would like to pursue in the future, one of which is to create a comprehensive fitness line, in addition to helping others bring their ideas to life. His favorite part of owning his own business is that, “There is a lot of freedom that comes with being your own boss”. He went on to elaborate that although being your own boss is a definitely a benefit, it’s also a sacrifice because you do not always have a steady paycheck and it is very time consuming. In the next ten years, Chace hopes that his business will have grown substantially and that he will have clients that come through him to help them create and design their ideas.
Chace’s advice to other entrepreneurs is, “Do what makes you both passionate and fulfilled at the same time.” There are many things in life that we are passionate about, follow the one that is meaningful to you and others as well. Many entrepreneurs wonder how to get their foot in the door, Chace recommends, “Simply reading blogs or books won’t get you to where you need to be. Form relationships with any local successful entrepreneurs willing to help you out and steer you in the right direction. They’re out there. You just have to find them.” His business motto is “Do or do not. There is no try,” a famous quote by Yoda.
